The indicator ‘Pressure on aquatic life by plant protection’ weighs the amount of active substance sold annually per plant protection product by toxicity to aquatic organisms and residence time in the environment, and is expressed as the sum of the dispersal equivalents (?Seq). The indicator is therefore a measure of the risks to aquatic life associated with the use of plant protection products. The Seq indicator was determined for the period 1990-2010.
