Quality Electronic Registration of Medical acts, Implants and Devices: Orthopedic Prosthesis Identification Data: Total femur

The aim of this project is to make a registration system available to orthopedists that allows them to register information related to the placement of hip and knee prostheses in order to create a “Belgian register of joint replacements”. The purpose of this register consists of: a) collecting data to enable professionals to examine the quality of care during knee and hip prosthesis placement; b) providing information about the type of prostheses placed on a patient when he or she comes for a consultation, so that accessories can be appropriately ordered if necessary; and c) determining the lifespan of the prostheses. This project concerns the hip and knee prostheses. ---------- Het doel van dit project is een registratiesysteem ter beschikking te stellen aan de orthopedisten dat hen toelaat informatie relatief aan de plaatsing van heup- en knieprothesen te registreren teneinde een “Belgisch register van de gewrichtsvervangingen” aan te leggen. Het doel van dit register bestaat uit: - het verzamelen van gegevens om professionelen toe te laten de kwaliteit van de zorgen bij plaatsing van knie- en heupprothesen te onderzoeken; - het ter beschikking stellen van informatie over het type van de prothesen die bij een patiënt geplaatst werden, wanneer deze op consultatie komt, zo kunnen indien nodig op een gepaste wijze accessoires worden besteld; - het bepalen van de levensduur van de prothesen. Dit project betreft de heup- en knieprothesen. ---------- Le but de ce projet est de fournir aux médecins orthopédistes un système d'encodage d'informations relatives au placement de prothèses de la hanche et du genou afin de constituer un registre des remplacements articulaires belge. Le but de ce registre consiste :- collecter des données permettant aux professionnels d'étudier la qualité des soins en matière de placement des prothèses de la hanche et du genou. - disposer d'information sur le type de prothèses qui a été placé chez un patient qui vient en consultation, pour éventuellement commander des accessoires de manière appropriée. - mesurer la durée de vie des prothèses. Ce projet concerne les prothèses de la hanche et du genou.
