Dataset description

The quartar deposits in Flanders, the youngest deposits, are lateral and vertically heterogeneous and vary greatly in thickness. The deposits have been established mainly under continental conditions (river, dune deposits). In fact, they are packages that are rarely more than 30 meters and sometimes even less than 1 meter thick. Because of this great individuality and the high degree of detail of the descriptions, an own stratigraphic coding was developed for Flanders.
