This map layer is part of the Renewable EnergieAtlas Flanders. In this technical scenario, the theoretical, technical maximum for the additional production potential for large-scale and small-scale winds is estimated. Large-scale winds are based on a 2.3 MW wind turbine and 300 kW small-scale wind. This will define the available space within which the technology can be used to maximise energy production. This demarcation is achieved by a combination of positive and negative spatial conditions. For small-scale wind, buffer zones around potential locations for large-scale wind are already charged. In the technical scenario only space constraints are taken into account for security reasons. For an overview of the spatial conditions used, reference is made to the report. A maximum of wind turbines shall then be placed within the available space, taking into account a minimum distance that can be respected between the wind turbines. The hotspots in Flanders are presented with a filtered picture of the results. The figures per municipality can also be found in the attached table.
