The indicator reports the number of beneficiaries of a social integration income or its equivalent (RIS or ERIS) to the population, on an annual average (average of monthly data for the number of beneficiaries).
The Social Integration Income (RIS) is a minimum income allocated by the CPAS to persons who do not have and are not eligible for such resources and who are unable to obtain them, either by their personal or other means. The Social Integration Income Equivalent (ERIS) is a financial aid granted by the CPAS within the framework of the Right to Social Assistance (Law of 2 April 1965 on the care of relief granted by public welfare centres) to persons who for certain reasons (e.g. nationality) do not qualify for the right to social integration. The amounts are identical to those of the RIS.

Note: Data on RIS and ERIS in Wallonia are also collected and analysed by CPAS and DGO5. Figures may vary from source to source depending on the update dates and the purpose of the collection. As part of WalStat, the choice of federal source was made to facilitate possible comparisons with data from other regions.
