Share of secondary school students attending a school located in their municipality of residence: this is the relationship between, on the one hand, the number of pupils domiciled in the municipality and enrolled in an educational institution in the municipality and, on the other hand, the number of pupils domiciled in the municipality and enrolled in education organised or subsidised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation or by the German-speaking Community (regardless of their schooling commune). Pupils attending a school in the Flemish Community or a school located abroad are not taken into account.
This report is interpreted in terms of school mobility. It is 100 % if all students domiciled in the entity are enrolled in an institution in their municipality of residence. The lower it is, and the higher the share of pupils who “go out” from their hometown to receive education.
