Surface water bodies (centerlines), state 22/03/2016

This stock contains the delimitations of surface water bodies (OWLs) as reported to the European Commission in implementation of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) 2000/60/EC. The demarcated surface water bodies are an important geographical unit for taking action and achieving the targets. Is a surface water body in accordance with Article 1.1.3. §2 of the DIW a distinct surface water, such as a lake, a guard basin, a savings basin, a stream, a river, a canal, a transitional water or part of a stream, river or canal or transitional water. In this stock, the centrelines of surface water bodies of the category transitional water, lake or river shall be delimited.
