Dataset description

Digital vector dataset of the tertiary geological maps of Flanders and Brussels, published by the Ministry of the Flemish Community/Flemish Government, Dept LNE (ALBON) in collaboration with the Belgian Geological Service (BGD). The tertiary geological map shows the tertiary formations that surface under the pre-quartary erosion plane. The legend of the map is lithostratigraphic. (https://www.dov.vlaanderen.be/page/neogeen-en-paleogeen) The tertiary geological map was compiled by the universities of Ghent and Leuven between 1989 and 2001.
