Weaving agriculture/residents per ha — Flanders — situation 2013

This map of the inter-farming between agriculture and living was drawn up on the basis of the combination of the residential cells from the land use file with the layer of agricultural use parcels. The analysis was carried out at a 10 m resolution. Each hectare cell containing at least 100 m² of agriculture or housing was included in the analysis. This map indicates per hectare cell whether it is a completely monofunctional agricultural cell, whether it is a fully monofunctional residential cell, or whether it is a cell with a degree of interweaving between agriculture and living. For interwoven cells, more than half are taken by agriculture (dominant agriculture), or more than half are occupied by living (dominant living). Farm dwellings are not considered as residential buildings, but as agricultural buildings. For agriculture, only the registered agriculture was included according to declarations to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and entered in the agricultural parcels database. Other land uses, including nature, water, recreation, infrastructure, etc., are excluded from the analysis.
