Dataset description
According to the Forests Act, an economic unit is part of a forest-economic area which is, as a rule, adapted to the configuration of the terrain, the organisational needs of forest and road management, and includes one or more forest areas for which, as a rounded economic unit, a forest management plan is specifically drawn up.
The economic unit is divided into divisions and sections, and the boundaries of the area of the economic units may be changed in the process of renewal and regular or extraordinary revision of the forest management plan with the approval of the ministry responsible for forestry affairs.
The layer shows the boundaries of the areas of the economic units in which forest holders’ forests (private forests) are located.
The Department is the smallest variable unit of the economic division of forests and forest land within the department with which it is specifically managed as a stand. Stands are excreted in sections according to forest purpose, cultivation form, management method, development stage, tree species, age, management objective, mixture ratio and overgrown. Every 10 years, when auditing the forest management plans, the boundaries of the sections may be changed according to the state of the stands.
In addition to this information, additional descriptions for more than 50 attributes can be obtained under certain conditions for each section, such as: description of stands, tree species in the section with mixture ratio, mass of stand by tree species, tree height, age of stand, patrol section, stand assembly, forest purpose, etc.
Position data are presented in the Croatian Terrestrial Reference System 1996 Transvers Merkator projection (HTRS96/TM).
