Dataset description

The CRO Habitats system allows you to view the Map of the habitat of the Republic of Croatia and the Catalogue of habitat types to all users of the system, while the viewing of field observations (as well as entering personal observations) is only possible for users who have been granted access by HAOP employees. Cro Habitats is a component of the Nature Protection Information System intended for the storage, maintenance and exchange of data related to habitat types in Croatia. The Cro Habitats system contains catalogue data on habitat types, the Habitats Map of the Republic of Croatia and field data on habitat types entered in the form of polygonal, line or spot spatial observations. When entering field observations, the user has the possibility to enter a large number of additional information such as: observed plant species, reasons of threat, references, multimedia and many others, depending on the type of habitat type to be introduced. The catalogue part of the system allows users to view and compare different classification systems of habitat types (National habitat classification, EUNIS, CLC, etc.). Map of habitats of the Republic of Croatia: Catalogue overview of habitat types of individual national and international, current and previous classification systems (National classification of habitats from 2004 to date — NKS 2004, NKS 2006, NKS 2009 and NKS 2014; EUNIS 2004; EUNIS 2012; Corine Land Cover — CLC; The Barcelona Convention; The Habitats Directive) Spatial observations of individual habitat types and additional information related to observations (recorded plant species, degree of structural conservation, degree of functional conservation, causes of vulnerability, representativeness, national importance, degree of conservation, links with other classification systems, references, multimedia, detailed description of the water surface and its conditions in the case of aquatic habitat types, etc.).
