DTS — results and news for the period January-April, 2016 The system of payments for hospitals according to diagnostic therapeutic groups (DTS) is a classification of treatment episodes from which it is evident because of the disease that the organ system patients were treated in hospitally, what kind of procedure was performed (operation or conservative treatment) and whether the case was complex due to complications of treatment or associated diseases (comorbidities) or the treatment went without complications and comorbidities. DTS data are collected from personal accounts issued by hospitals for hospital treatment of all patients in the Republic of Croatia. In addition to monitoring the occurrence of diseases and conditions, data on the length of hospital treatment, as well as the material costs of the treatment (medicinal costs and medical materials) are collected for the monitoring method and the data contained in the accounts. By examining the analysis of the DTS account, the user gets a quality impression about the complexity of the hospital system, the cost of health care, but also the occurrence of the disease and the method of hospital treatment of these diseases on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
