Mapping and assessment of ecosystems and their services

The database contains data on the spatial representation of ecosystem types according to the EUNIS habitat classification. The ecosystem map is based on the CLC land cover for RH 2012 http://www.azo.hr/CORINELandCover. The methodology is described in the study “Making and assessing ecosystems and their services in Croatia” http://www.azo.hr/KartiranjeIProcjena. In accordance with the methodology recommended by the European Commission http://biodiversity.europa.eu/maes, the respective ecosystem classes according to the EUNIS habitat classification (EUNIS habitats classification http://eunis.eea.europa.eu/habitats-code-browser.jsp) are associated to individual CLC classes. According to the ecosystem services classification developed by the EEA, ecosystem services are divided into sectors, groups and classes: Supply services; regulatory services; and support and cultural services. Publicly available on the website of the Croatian Environment and Nature Agency in the form of a GIS browser.
