The data published include the results of the referendum on the constitutional definition of marriage — 2013 and the results of the referendum on the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union — 2012. A referendum is a form of direct voter decision-making in the exercise of state authority on matters defined by the Constitution (state referendum) and on matters falling within the self-governing remit of local and regional self-government units defined by law and statute (local referendum).
