Orthophotos are aerial photos where each pixel is adjusted according to the camera's position and the elevation model of the ground surface. In this way, an orthophoto is created that is angular and true to scale. This allows distances to be measured in the images, just as you can in a map with a fixed scale.
The orthophoto is post-processed in terms of colour, contrast and lighting conditions, in particular to remove visible transitions between the individual images.
