Ochre potential areas are designated low-bottom areas, some of which are mapped for sulphur acidity (pyrite content).
The database was created in connection with ochre mapping 1981-84. 5, 6, 7, 8. This study was carried out in accordance with Act No 57 of 18 February 1981, according to which a survey of potentially sulfur acidic soils in Jutland was to be carried out. On the basis of the low-bottom areas, approximately 8000 boreholes have been selected in low-bottom areas in Jutland.
In terms of ochre, the low bottom areas are divided into the following classes:
Class I > 50 % of profiles contain highly acidified samples
Class II 20-50 % of profiles contain highly acidified samples
Class III < 20 % of profiles contain highly acidified samples
Class IV no acidified samples
Class V not classified
