Dataset description

The theme shows fishing with non-bottomed gears within the Natura 2000 areas. Fishing with non-bottom catching gears has been calculated for pelagic trawls including purse seine fishing in the period 2013-2018. The fishing is shown on the map with AIS data. AIS data is shown at varying frequencies as low as every two seconds. The points shown are for a given speed of the vessel where it is assumed that fishing can take place.
