The theme covers stone and earth dykes which are protected against changes in condition, cf. the Museums Act (Section 29a, Act No 473 of 7 June 2001 as amended, most recently Amending Act No 358 of 8 April 2014). The theme is indicative and must therefore not be used to determine whether there are protected dikes in an area. The dykes covered by the protection are set out in Order No 1190 of 26 September 2013 on protected stone and earth dykes and the like. See Section 8 of the Order, municipalities can be contacted for information about a dyke covered by the protection.
For areas reviewed in the context of the project on ‘New mapping of protected stone and earth dykes’, data can be found in the theme ‘Protected stone and earth dykes 2022’. The project on the mapping of protected dykes has started in 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2024. Until then, the themes ‘Protected stone and earth dykes’ and ‘Protected stone and earth dykes 2022’ together constitute the indicative registration.
