The railway

Railways include the state rail network in Denmark. The theme contains elements of the types line pieces (track segments), polygons and points. The track segments describe the tracé of the track defined by the track centre. Track segments are delimited by points of distribution points (track switches), station boundaries and track ends. In addition, there is a specific point type for stations. The track segments and points are circumscribed by polygons of the types of railway area on the open rail and railway area at stations. The volume of track segments is divided into contiguous sub-volumes (rail lines) with their own unique line number. Each line is characterised by the attributes line speed, track gauge, number of tracks, electrified (yes/no), type and traffic use. For each station is as attribute indicated the number of platforms.
