Dataset description

This survey shows that public support for the euro has reached another record high in the euro area, as has support for the abolition of 1 and 2 cent coins. The phone survey shows the highest overall support for the euro for the fourth consecutive year since the start of these yearly surveys in 2002. A record majority of 80% of respondents think the euro is good for the EU, and 70% also consider the euro is good for their own country (while 22 % consider is bad). Respondents who feel informed about the euro are more likely to support its introduction (57% compared with 44% of those who do not feel informed).
