Special Eurobarometer 426: Blood and Cell and Tissue Donation

The objective of this Special Eurobarometer report is to understand European citizens’ behaviour and attitudes towards donating and receiving treatment with these body substances (excluding solid organs). This will help to shape future policy for donors and recipients. The survey begins, setting the context for the topic, by establishing respondents’ experiences of donating specific body substances. It then moves on to establish attitudes to donating, either while alive or after death. Finally, the survey considers respondents’ attitudes to receiving treatment with donated body substances and the need for legislation at EU-level. This report includes a breakdown by country.
