Dataset description

The dataset provides socio-economic information on the European enterprises involved in the algae value chain, covering macroalgae, microalgae and the cyanobacteria Spirulina and different steps of the value chain (producing, manufacturing and services). The data include values on turnover and employment by country and step of the value chain. Overall, the ALGAE-industry collection aims to build a reliable database to characterise the algae sector in Europe to support informed European policies on blue growth and the bioeconomy.
