The ChemAgora web portal provides search capabilities to chemical data from resources available online, enabling users to cross-reference the substances they are working on with both regulatory information and public chemical databases. ChemAgora is a JRC contribution to assist stakeholders in the chemical risk assessment environment to gain a quick overview of globally available data about chemicals. This speeds up the process of data discovery and saves valuable resources.
ChemAgora, through an on-the-fly search, informs whether a chemical is known or not in each of 17 external data sources, and/or the OECD eChemPortal (featuring another 30 external sources), and provides clickable links leading to the third-party web site pages containing the information. These third-party data sources contain regulatory and/or scientific chemical information, typically using the CAS Registry Number (CASRN, a registered trademark of the American Chemical Society) as the substance identifier. ChemAgora can also map InChIKeys to CASRNs, which bridges the gap between more regulatory and scientific environments.
