EFAS holds two flash flood indicators: ERIC and ERICHA. The ERIC flash flood indicator data set holds two layers. The one layer contains key locations at which the ERIC flash flood indicator forecasts a high probability of exceeding the 5-/20-year return period. For those locations additional hydrological information are provided. The second layer outlines the drainage area affected by heavy precipitation and potential flash floods.
This information is part of the operational suit of EFAS (www.efas.eu) and intends to provide EFAS partners with in-depth information at relevant key locations along affected European rivers to facilitate decision making.
The update frequency of this data set is twice a day (00:00 and 12:00 UTC); and the spatial coverage is the extended geographic Europe.
