Over the 12-14 October 2020, an extreme weather situation has affected the entire area of the Slovak Republic, and Central Europe, with heavy rainfall and strong winds. Both red and orange alerts were issued by the Slovak Hydro-meteorological Institute. The greatest damages are reported in the Košice, Prešov, Banská Bystrica and Zvolen Regions. The overflow of several rivers is reported, with the Slaná, Hornád, and Morava River expected to overflow in the near future, with floods affecting many areas and blocking roads.<br/>
