On 12 August, a forest fire broke out on the Greek island of Evia, near Athens. The residents of Kondodespoti and Stavros villages were preventively evacuated. The K349 Agrilitsa-Katavothra-Kalamaki wild life park was directly threatened by the fire.
Copernicus EMS Mapping products will be used for a rapid assessment of the fire perimeter to assist the fire service in mop up operations, as well as to prevent any possible re-ignitions of the fire.<br/>
