A forest fire started near Potamia village in Thassos Island (Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region - Greece) on Wednesday 10 of August morning, burnt forest, scrub and cultivated fields. Residents in the village of Kinira were ordered to evacuate. According to Fire Service 135 firefighters with 56 vehicles are currently operating in the area, assisted by 104 ground force personnel and fourteen (14) helicopter and fourteen (14) airplanes. Volunteer firefighters, military forces water tankers and local government machinery aid. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide Delineation monitoring and grading products. These Copernicus EMS Mapping products will be used mainly by local authorities (Forest Service, Fire Service, Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Thasos municipality) for recovery and restoration planning of the affected area<br/>
