Forest Fire in Thassos Island - Greece (2022-08-17)

<br/> Activation time (UTC): 2022-08-17 09:35:00<br/> Event time (UTC): 2022-08-10 10:00:00<br/> Event type: Wildfire (Forest fire)<br/> <br/> Activation reason: <br/> A forest fire started near Potamia village in Thassos Island (Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region - Greece) on Wednesday 10 of August morning, burnt forest, scrub and cultivated fields. Residents in the village of Kinira were ordered to evacuate. According to Fire Service 135 firefighters with 56 vehicles are currently operating in the area, assisted by 104 ground force personnel and fourteen (14) helicopter and fourteen (14) airplanes. Volunteer firefighters, military forces water tankers and local government machinery aid. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide Delineation monitoring and grading products.
