The specific service implementation focuses on the generation of information relating to the horizontal and vertical displacement across the AOI as a consequence of the 28th September earthquake (7.5 magnitude) that hit the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia, triggering a number of aftershocks. The analysis involved satellite SAR imagery (Sentinel-1) processing through an offset tracking technique. Ascending and Descending images were selected, both prior to and after the event. This allowed the generation of horizontal and vertical motion decomposition.North-South earthquake ground displacementEast-West earthquake ground displacementDue to the extent of this particular earthquake’s effects and the historical seismic activity in the area, mapping that enables the delimitation of boundaries and range of ground displacement is essential in order to allocate aid resources and manage risks. In this case, the fault line crossing the city of Palu is well identified.Vertical earthquake ground displacementThe core users of the map are humanitarian aid operators, governments and response organizations. Other potential users of the map are Civil Protection authorities involved in in-field operations. The scope of the map production is planning and support to logistics. <br/>
