This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. It describes the ecosystem service of crop pollination. Pollination is a key ecosystem service as many crops but in particular, fruits and vegetables are partially dependent on pollinating insects to produce food for human consumption.
The overlap between the pollination potential and demand for pollination is used to quantify the area generating the actual flow (or use) of the service : the use area. In this way, the use area is defined as the extent of pollinator-dependent crops benefiting from the service providing area with different pollination potentials.
