The indicator is calculated as required by Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of energy from renewable energy sources. The data are collected from EU Member States national renewable energy action plans (NREAPs) as an obligation of Article 4 of the Directive 2009/28/EC. The share of renewable energy in gross final energy consumption is calculated for electricity sector Sector coverage: The indicator covers renewable electricity share - res-e (%)
