Dataset description

Historical (observations) data and projections (modelled) of total employment per metro region (unit:employees). Historical regional data were extracted from EUROSTAT's online database and missing data were calculated in order to complete the historical series. Projection data were calculated assuming a trend scenario where past regional sector growth rates converge linearly to national sector growth rates in 2035, and from 2035 onwards, each sector grows at the same pace in all regions within each country. Projections were finally rescaled in order to respect country totals from the reference DG ECFIN projections.
