Wildfire in Kephalonia, Greece (2021-07-05)

Large forests and rural areas were burnt down and several villages as Keparandriti, Agia Eirini, Markopoulo, Kremmidi, Pasta and Kolaitiwere were evacuated. According to Fire Service, 116 firefighters with 32 vehicles are operating in the area, with the assistance of ground forces and helicopters, even though the strong wind made firefighters' work extremely difficult. It was declared by the head of Fire Brigades that nobody was injured or harmed. On the 4th July, the situation was better as winds have weakend.
