A very relevant part of EU law is the EU legislation. The main document types of EU legislation are directives, regulations and decisions. These acts may undergo amendments in the course of time, by means of other similar acts. In this context, "Basic act" is the term to refer to the acts affected by the posterior amendments (referred to as "amending acts", in opposition to the "basic acts").
