The data contains real-time station-specific air quality observations from Finnish cities and industrial areas. Air pollution concentrations are measured using automatic, continuous measuring instruments and the data consists of hourly averages, which are updated once an hour. The data contains a total of seven pollutants (SO2, NO2,O3, TRS, CO, PM10, PM2.5), but the range of compounds to be measured varies by measuring instrument. The scope of the measurement of air quality in municipalities and industry is determined on the basis of the Air Quality Regulation and environmental permit legislation. The Finnish Meteorological Institute collects the data in the Air Quality Portal (AAQ.fi) and distributes it to open data.
