Dataset description

France comprises 12 basin districts or basin committees (7 in metropolis and 5 overseas). The administrative territory of each basin is based on communal division, by ministerial decree. The reference for administrative basin districts is derived from the aggregation (made by the Sandre) of the geometries of the municipalities belonging to the same electoral district. The geometries of the municipalities come from the database ADMIN EXPRESS COG 2021 edition of the IGN. Original data uploaded to: https://geoservices.ign.fr 17 June 2021
