Localisation of absolute constraints not allowing the development of wind energy, as defined in the “Regional Wind Scheme” approved on 6 July 2012 and annexed to the regional climate, air and energy scheme (SRCAE).
The development of wind turbines in Aquitaine has to deal with wind resources and the various issues in the territory, which are more or less important constraints for the installation of wind turbines.
The main themes taken into account in the SRE are:
— Landscapes and heritage
— Urban planning,
— Biodiversity,
— Technical issues (Vent, defence, civil aviation, meteoFrance radars)
Each issue identified at the regional level represents a level of constraint that can be “absolute”, “strong” or “moderate” as identified as such by the services consulted, after arbitration in the context of the development of the SRE.
Absolute constraints are mapped and then declined into “unfavourable” wind zones; All of these particular issues determine parts of territories where wind energy cannot be developed at the time of the development of the SRE.
