Authorised perimeters of the Coastal Conservatory

The sites of the Coastal Conservatory are intended to safeguard coastal and lake areas. Their access to the public is encouraged but remains defined within limits consistent with the vulnerability of each site. Land intervention by the Coastal Conservatory is particularly justified in at least one of the four criteria: 1 When the land is under pressure for urbanisation that undermines existing regulations or threats of irreversible artificialisation of the environment; 2 When the land is undergoing a degradation process that requires heritage management to restore biodiversity and landscapes; 3 When the land is inaccessible and its opening to the public is desirable; 4 When land control ensures the sustainability of traditional economic activities that guarantee a characteristic landscape or remarkable ecological balance.
