Biodiversity constraints for the wind component of the Regional Climate Plan Air Energy (SRCAE) in Midi-Pyrénées

The resulting GIS layer by overlaying and without cumulation, regulatory constraints related to biodiversity, and the sensitivity of biodiversity to wind. The objects in this layer are divided into 4 stress classes: • Prohibited area: exclusion zones linked to regulatory protection • Strong constraint: areas with very high environmental stakes, incompatible with the development of wind power • Average stress: areas with high environmental challenges, where the development of wind energy remains subject to specific studies • Low stress: areas where the development of wind power is possible subject to the fulfilment of qualitative criteria
