‘Geological maps are an indispensable information document for professionals, teachers, students and amateurs; these maps also provide decision-making aid for spatial planning, prospecting for mineral resources, exploration and protection of groundwater, pollution control, prevention of natural hazards and characterisation of terroirs.
In addition to the maps of France at the 1/50 000th scale, regional summaries at 1/250 000 and national at 1/1,000,000 are available.’
