Continuous measuring stations of hydrological, physical, chemical and sedimentary parameters have been installed on the Selune River as part of the scientific programme for monitoring the dams of the Selune. Out of 2 of them, a monitoring of concentrations of chemical elements has been established.
Weekly or automatic manual sampling at higher frequency during flooding is carried out at these stations. The chemical analyses of these samples are carried out in the laboratory of the SAS Joint Research Unit and which contribute to the monitoring of the abiotic environmental parameters, and thus fall under the responsibility of the Sélune Observatory.
The concentrations analysed include the dissolved phase elements (dissolved phosphorus, major anions, dissolved silica, ammonium) and the particulate phase (suspension materials, carbon and nitrogen content thereof, total Phosphorus).
