A PDU is a planning document that defines the general principles of transport of goods and persons, traffic (all modes) and parking in the urban transport perimeter (PTU). Its objective is to reduce car traffic with a view to improving air quality and reducing noise-related nuisances. It is compulsory for agglomerations with more than 100,000 inhabitants.
The objective of a DMP is to “define the principles of the transport of persons and goods of traffic and parking”. In a non-exhaustive way, it aims to reduce car traffic, encourage public transport and carpooling, develop soft travel (bike, walk on foot), organise parking, improve the road network.
