MAPPING OF ZVAS Areas in which the driver is called upon to exercise increased vigilance (‘VAZ’) are sections of track open to traffic that meet one or more of the following criteria: * the presence of dangerous road signs (dangerous turns, intersections, steep slopes, etc.); * speed limits lower than the regulatory limitation of the road code according to the different route configurations (R413-2 and R413-3 of the road code) (e.g. 70 km/h instead of 90 km/h outside agglomerations); * accidentality observed in the area. It is important to remember that road and street are inherently risky areas. Thus, VAAs must be read as areas in which the driver must exercise increased vigilance, which in no way relieves him of his duty of vigilance and compliance outside those areas; it must in all circumstances be responsive to its environment and to the other users with whom it shares public space. This mapping is the second version of the national ZVA file. This may change depending on changes in the network, behaviours, and changes in the local context.
