The map makes it possible to visualise the parts of rivers that are envisaged to be retained in the departmental inventory of spawning grounds.
For the preparation of this inventory, two categories of fish, classified in two lists laid down by the Ministerial Order of 23 April 2008, were distinguished under Article R432-1 of the Environmental Code.
Species in List 1: Fish whose reproduction is highly dependent on the granulometry of the bottom of the river bed
Species in List 2: Fish whose reproduction is dependent on a number of factors.
The departmental inventory of spawning grounds therefore consists of two types of watercourses:
— Parts of watercourses capable of harbouring fish spawning grounds in List 1, watercourses retained because of their physical characteristics.
— The parts of watercourses in which the deposit and fixing of eggs or the presence of fry of the fish species in List 2 were found during the period of the preceding 10 years.
This map is merely informative, only the precise wording of the decree is authentic, in particular tributaries and sub- tributaries are not necessarily represented cartographically.
The watercourse detail can be accessed by the “i” button.
The information available is:
Name of the watercourse, the upstream and downstream boundaries of the section, if tributaries and sub- tributaries are concerned and the fish species concerned.
— Code 1: species or tributary or sub- tributary concerned
Code 0: unrelated species or tributary or sub-flux
