The catchment area of a city defines the extent of its influence on the surrounding municipalities. This zoning follows the zoning into urban areas of 2010. An area is composed of a pole, defined on the basis of population and employment criteria, and a crown, consisting of municipalities of which at least 15 % of the workforce work in the cluster. Within the pole, the most populous commune is called the center commune.
