This dataset describes the location, the follow-up of “EcoQuartiers” or other procedures and the “labelling” approach.
An EcoQuartier is an urban development project that respects the principles of sustainable development while adapting to the characteristics of its territory
It must respect all the principles of sustainable development by:
— the need to do the project differently, involving all the actors of the city, from the citizen to the elected, but also through the provision of consultation and monitoring tools to guarantee the quality of the project in the long term and for use;
— the contribution to the improvement of daily life, through the creation of a healthy and safe living environment for all inhabitants and users of public or private space, and which promotes living together;
participation in economic and territorial dynamism;
— promoting responsible management of resources and adaptation to climate change
In order to promote these principles, the State launched in 2008, the EcoQuartier approach, which was implemented in December 2012 by the creation of the national EcoQuartier label.
