PAPIs are tools for implementing the natural flood risk prevention policy that complement existing regulatory arrangements (such as natural flood risk prevention plans). Established since 2003, they contract commitments from the State and local and regional authorities to carry out studies and/or work on flood risk prevention with a comprehensive risk basin-wide approach to prevention.
There are two types of “PAPI” procedures: complete or intentional.
A labelling scheme aims to ensure the coherence and relevance of projects, in particular in support of socio-economic analysis for the most important investments.
