Identification of forest areas subject to clearance clearance in the Department of Landes.
Any voluntary operation leading directly or indirectly to the destruction of the wooded state of land and ending its forest destination is a clearing. Any clearance requires prior authorisation from the administration. This authorisation is exempt from this authorisation for clearing in woods and forests of less than a threshold of between 0.5 and 4 ha (threshold fixed by department and by the State representative).
For areas subject to clearance authorisation in the Landes, a threshold of 4 ha is retained for the northern part while for the southern part the threshold is 1 ha.
Clearing is an operation subject to AUTORISATION (Article L.341-3 of the Forest Code), except in special cases or exemptions provided for in the Forest Code.
Clearing is INTERDIT in the Classified Wooded Space (EBC — L.113-2 of the CU) and spaces
woodlands identified as remarkable landscape elements in the PLUs (L.151-23 of the CU).
