Get early access to Dataset Direct Download Service (WFS): Hydrometric stations used by flood forecasting services (SPC) Meuse-Moselle and Rhin-Sarre on the Rhine-Meuse basin API!
The points correspond to hydrometric stations (water height measurement) and/or meteorological (rain and air temperature measurement) used by the Meuse-Moselle and Rhin-Sarre flood forecasting services (SPCs).
Hydrometric stations have a code in the field “COD_HYDRO3” and the meteorological stations have a code in the field “METEO_SPC”. A station can be mixed: hydrometric and meteorological.
Some of the hydrometric stations are used to observe runoff and flood flows (Observation field = yes). Some are also used for raw vigilance, i.e. the water level expected or reached at this station may result in a yellow, orange or red alert on the corresponding section (Vigilance field = yes). Some of them are used by flood forecasting services to disseminate expected water level forecasts via the Vigicrues.gouv.fr site (Prevision field = yes).
The reference document for flood forecasting across the Rhine-Meuse basin is the Rhine-Meuse Basin Flood Forecasting Scheme (SDPC).
