Regional Natural Park
A regional nature park is part of the protected natural areas (ENP) which are areas
designated or managed in an international, Community, national or local framework with a view to
to achieve specific objectives for the conservation of natural heritage.
Regional nature parks aim to enhance vast areas of great cultural interest
and natural, and to ensure the sustainable development of these areas whose rural character is
often very assertive. They are created as a result of the will of local and regional authorities (communities,
Communities of municipalities, departments, regions) to implement a territorial project
this is translated into the drafting of a charter. A park is certified for a period of 12 years
maximum by the state, and can be renewed. It ranks in IUCN category V (landscapes)
protected).
A regional nature park may concern several regions and extend at sea.
