Sectors affected by noise (in the sense of the ‘noise classification of land transport infrastructure’) along the roads covered by the strategic noise maps (2012 deadline). The Strategic Noise Map is a public information tool and a diagnosis of the noise environment, which is a decision-making aid for land use planning. It shows the noise levels generated by road infrastructure, gives an estimate of the number of people living in residential buildings and the number of educational and health institutions located in areas exposed to noise.
